International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District Lodge 105 records, 1942-1992.

Contains the records of a Machinists's district lodge and its local lodges in Amana, Fairfield, Oskaloosa and Ottumwa, Iowa and provides information on dozens of companies in these towns. Includes correspondence, contracts and agreements, grievances and arbitration proceedings, and meeting minutes. Of interest are the organizing records of the district and information about various companies under contract with the District, including Amana Refrigeration, Rockwell-Collins Standard Corporation, and Iowa Valve Company. Records also contain materials from the IAM Grand Lodge consisting of reports and correspondence. Six feet of records from Local Lodge 1526, the Amana Lodge, deal mainly with grievances and arbitration from the 1960s and 70s. Two four-hour reel-to-reel tapes containing arbitration proceedings between Local Lodge 1293 and Universal Producing Company from December 1970 are stored with Iowa Labor Collection audio-visual materials.

District Lodge 105 was organized in 1942 to support local lodges in Fairfield, Ottumwa, and Oskaloosa, Iowa. The District organized companies and provided aid to local lodges, including legal and administrative help. In 1973 Local Lodge 1465 merged with Local Lodge 1293; the District moved its headquarters from Ottumwa to Fairfield; and Local Lodge 1526 affiliated with the District.
